RAC Launches Donation Program for Children with
Disabilities

On the 30 April 2010, RAC WA embarked on Workplace Giving,
a program where employees can make regular donations from their
pay, with proceeds going to charity group Therapy Focus.
Therapy Focus provides therapy services to children with
disabilities, such as occupational therapy, speech pathology,
physiotherapy, psychology and equipment services.
Coordinated by United Way WA, Workplace Giving is an
ATO-accredited fundraising program, which allows employees to make
a donation each pay cycle and receive an immediate tax deduction.
This provides employees with an easy way to donate, as it
eliminates the need to keep receipts for tax purposes.
The RAC launch of the program was held at their West Perth,
Balcatta and Joondalup offices, with RAC CEO Terry Agnew formally
introducing Workplace Giving to staff. "The RAC staff are keen to
get involved with a giving program to the community and the RAC is
delighted to be able to provide this process through United Way"
said Terry.
The staff at RAC were given a shortlist of charities that their
donations could go towards, with Therapy Focus voted as the
preferred organisation.
"It is important that companies provide their staff access to
community giving" said United Way WA CEO Sue Dixon. "By utilising
the Workplace Giving program, RAC are making a significant
contribution to the Western Australian community".
Staff will continue to be involved by receiving updates on the
progress of the program.
